New Japanese island keeps growing

A Japanese island formed by volcanic activity in Tokyo’s Ogasawara island chain keeps growing.

The land mass surfaced off Nishinoshima Island about 1,000 kilometres south of Tokyo.

Officials have found three craters spewing ash and lava that are helping to make the islet grow.
