Insurgents attack military base in Nigeria

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed in north-eastern Nigeria after Boko Haram insurgents attacked the airbase at Maiduguri.

Reports say it was a coordinated operation involving hundreds of militants.

Officially only two military personnel are said to have been injured.

Thousands of people have been killed since 2009, when Boko Haram launched its campaign to install Islamic law.
