Australia’s Keahi De Aboitiz produced a stunning performance to clinch the 2013 Kite Surf Pro World Championships at Hookipa Beach Park in Hawaii on Wednesday.
The 2012 winner outclassed Italy’s Airton Cozzolino in the semi-finals and carried his momentum into the showpiece match where he edged out newcomer Kai Lenny by the narrowest of margins.
In the women’s event, America’s Moona Whyte edged out Dutch surfer Jalou Langeree to secure the title with Brazil’s Milla Ferreira completing the podium.
