Russia mums swap babies after maternity mix-up

Two Russian mothers have been reunited with their own babies, more than three months after a maternity mix-up meant they took home the wrong daughters.

The women, who are both called Lyudmila and had been given Caesarean operations at the same time in a Russian hospital, breast fed and bonded with each other’s children.

One said her marriage had almost been wrecked when a DNA test showed the child was not her husband’s.

The hospital only acknowledged a mistake after the women paid for tests which proved they had taken home the wrong babies.
