Gibraltar will become UEFA’s youngest and smallest member when they take on Slovakia in a friendly on Tuesday.
The rocky territory, which was added in May following a 14-year court marathon, has about 1,400 players, two divisions and 20 teams.
Controlled by Britain but attached geographically to Spain, Gibraltar will play their first game, as well as their 2016 European Championship qualifiers, 200km away at the Estadio Algarve in Portugal because their own ground does not meet UEFA standards.
