A train has crashed into a van and a minibus near Cairo killing at least 25 people and injuring 27 more.
The incident happened at a crossing near the Giza district.
The driver of the train said he was caught by surprise when the two vehicles sped onto the track. Egypt’s roads and railways have a poor safety record.
The transport network came under attack last year when 50 people, mostly children, were killed after a train crashed into a school bus south of Cairo.
