'Death threats' and 'feigned injuries' football Italian style

A probe has been launched after an Italian third division match was abandoned amid death threat allegations and feigned injuries.

Salernitana entertained Nocerina in a local derby.

However, the Nocerina ultras were banned from the stadium and allegedly threatened their own players at the team hotel, not to take part or else!

Nocerina made three substitutions after 50 seconds and then five players went off allegedly suffering dreadful injuries of one form or another, which led to the game being abandoned.

The ultras, identified by police, say they did not threaten the players, but wanted to express their anger at being excluded from the game.
