Chain mail and razor wire is being used on a six metre high triple fence separating the Spanish territory of Melilla from Morocco.
It is designed to prevent people scaling the fence and crossing from the north African country.
The razor wire had been used before but was removed in 2007 after there were so many serious injuries to people trying to cross into the Spanish territory.
