Igor Wandtke of Germany claimed gold in the -73 kg division.
The London European Cup winner won all four of his contests by ippon including the final against Kim Yong Jeong of Korea.
World number 13 Sergiu Toma of the United Arab Emirates defeated world number 15 Sven Maresch of Germany to win gold in the men’s -81kg class.
Maresch was penalised twice in a tense final bout which effectively handed Toma the win.
Moscow Grand Slam bronze medallist Martyna Trajdos of Germany subdued home judoka LI Jie to win the -63kg title to go one medal better than last year’s edition.
Trajdos needed just under two minutes to win by ippon.
In wasn’t all near misses for the home nation though as local judoka Chen Fei thrilled the few spectators in the arena by retaining her Qingdao title against compatriot Zhao Jia in the under 70 kg division.
