French author Gerard de Villiers, whose thrillers sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, has died aged 83.
He created the SAS series with an Austrian hero often seen at the French version of the James Bond novels.
De Villiers started his writing career in 1966 and his 200th and final book was released last month.
