Champions League: Man Utd and Real Madrid maintain their good starts

They top the group one point clear of Bayer Leverkusen who had Stefan Kiessling hit the mark twice in their 4-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid made it three wins from three in group B with victory over Serie A Champions Juventus.

Edinson Cavani completed the away rout for the French champions who are five points clear of both Olympiakos and Benfica who shared the spoils in Greece following a 1-1 draw.

Reigning champions Bayern Munich were in devastating form as they steamrolled the Czech’s of Viktoria Plzen 5-0 in Munich.

Franck Ribery scored a brace to help the Bavarians stay top of Group D on three wins from three.

Elsewhere Sergio Aguero hit a double to lift Manchester City to a 2-1 victory away at CSKA Moscow. They are three points behind in second place.
