US veterans protest government shutdown at WWII Memorial
A crowd converged on the World War II Memorial on the National Mall in Washington DC on Sunday morning, pushing through barriers to protest that the memorial was closed under the government shutdown. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin were among the demonstrators.
