A Russian court has ordered a critic of Vladimir Putin to be held indefinitely in a psychiatric institution.
Mikhail Kosenko was arrested for taking part in an anti-Putin protest on the eve of the leader’s inauguration as president last year.
Although Kosenko has been treated for mental health problems in the past, human rights activists say the judgement is a return to Soviet-era abuses.
