Andy Murray has pulled out of the season-ending World Tour Finals in London next month as he continues to recover from a minor back operation.
The world number three underwent surgery last month to correct a disc problem in his lower back.
Murray withdrew from the French Open in May due to the injury only to recover in time to become Britain’s first male Wimbledon singles’ champion since Fred Perry in 1936.
Although he failed in his bid to win back-to-back US Open titles with his challenge ending in the quarter finals, he did manage to help Great Britain beat Croatia in the Davis Cup which sent the team to the world group for the first time since 2008.
The finals begin on November 5 and features the world’s top eight players.
Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer have already secured spots at the season-ending event while five places are still up for grabs.
