A passenger with no experience of flying has performed an emergency landing at Humberside Airport in England, thanks to guidance from air traffic controllers and a flying instructor.
John Wildey was forced to take over the controls when the pilot fell unconscious. Wildey successfully landed the light aircraft at the fourth attempt, apparently without even knowing where the light panel was.
He was unhurt but the plane’s original pilot later died. An inquest will be carried out to establish cause of death.
