For the second day in a row Kurdish protesters have clashed with police in southeast Turkey.

Petrol bombs and fireworks were thrown at riot vans as water cannon struggled to douse several small fires in the streets.

Kurdish militants have dismissed political reforms proposed by the government.

They claim electoral changes plus the broadening of language rights is not a serious attempt to advance a flagging peace process aimed at ending a 29-year insurgence.

The outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) has described the package as coming from a government with one eye on the next election.
