Another tank holding highly contaminated water is said to be leaking from Japan’s crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.
Some of the liquid may have reached the Pacific Ocean.
Operator Tepco says the breach was discovered in a tank-holding area away from where 300 tones of toxic water escaped in August.
The company has been using hastily built containers to hold excess cooling water flushed over the damage reactors at the site where three units suffered nuclear meltdowns after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
A series of problems at the Fukushima plant have raised concerns over the company’s ability to carry out the complex clean-up which is expected to take decades.
