The United Nations has demanded an urgent inquiry into violence at an Iranian dissident camp in central Iraq which reportedly left at least 47 people dead.

Unverified video from inside Camp Ashraf showed numerous bodies; the dissident group Mujahadin-e-Khalq said at least half of its 100 members had been killed.

The camp was set up in the late 1980s to launch raids on Iran. Iraq now wants the camp closed and has denied MEK allegations that its security forces opened fire on the dissidents.
