Wales International Gareth Bale has finally signed with Real Madrid ending a transfer saga that has lasted most of the summer.
The Spanish club are to reportedly pay Tottenham a world-record transfer fee of around 100 million euros for the 24-year-old, eclipsing the 94 million euros Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Two days after agreeing personal terms Bale put pen to paper on a six-year contract and will earn some nine million euros a year for his talents.
Last season he scored 26 goals for Spurs in a stunning season-long performance that led to him being named player of the year by both the Professional Footballers’ Association and Football Writers.
His first game for Real could come as soon as next Saturday when his new club travel to Villarreal in the league.
