English Premier League side Chelsea announced on Thursday they have signed Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o on a free transfer from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
After two failed bids for England international Wayne Rooney, Chelsea turned their sights towards the 32-year old four-time African Footballer of the Year.
Eto’o has signed a one year deal with the Stamford bridge outfit where he will join up with former coach Jose Mourinho.
Eto’o played a crucial role in Mourinho’s Champions League-winning Inter Milan side in 2010.
He is the second player from Anzhi to make the move to Chelsea in the past two days after The Blue’s confirmed the signing of Brazil’s attacking midfielder Willian on a five-year deal.
