Manish Malhotra is one of Indian’s most famous fashion designers, known for styling and dressing Bollywood’s leading stars.
His new collection was one of the highlights at this year’s Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai.
The collection, called ‘Reflections’, displayed a gorgeous synergy of Indian traditions, cultures, rituals and colour.
There was a mix of contemporary cuts and classic detailing, including the use of textured silks embellished with thread and zari embroidery work from Kashmir.
Manish experimented with silhouettes showcasing the stylish ‘ghagra-pant’ – a fusion of the Sharara and classic pant – mixed with the traditional ‘lehengas’ – or midriff-baring blouses.
