Arsenal favourites for Champions League spot

Arsenal are overwhelming favourites to make it to their 16th consecutive UEFA Champions League campaign when they host Fenerbahçe in the crucial second leg of their playoff at the Emirates.

Arsène Wenger’s men host the Turkish outfit holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg last week courtesy of Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud.

Fenerbahçe now have a mountain to climb in north London if they are to reach the champions league proper for the first time in four seasons.

Elsewhere the Greeks of PAOK could spring the surprise of the playoffs when they welcome Schalke to the Stadio Toumba in Salonika.

The Greek hopefuls handed themselves the perfect chance to progress when they held the Germans to a shock one all draw in Gelsenkirchen last week.

A goalless draw against coach Huub Stevens’ former club will be enough to take PAOK through for the first time in the club’s history.

Austria Wien host Dinamo Zagreb leading 2-0, FC Basel entertain Bulgarian side Ludogorets with a 4-2 advantage from the first leg while Legia Warszawa take on Steaua București with both teams square at one all.
