President Dilma Rousseff has got on her bike. One of her cabinet ministers, “leaked” the story to the press.
The action raised concern among her aides after all it’s not everyday a head of state dismisses her security staff to ride around the city streets unaccompanied on a powerful motorbike.
That’s what Rousseff did at a time her popularity has plummeted in the wake of protests. A shocked minister for mining and energy scolded her saying, “You don’t just have to worry about yourself but also 200 million Brazilians.”
“Life is full of risks,” she replied, “everything we do involves risk,” especially in politics, she might have added.
