Afghanistan hosted its first football international in 10 years on Tuesday, with its national team securing an emphatic 3-0 win over Pakistan in Kabul.
Afghanistan, ranked 139th in the world, gave the home crowd something to cheer about after just 20 minutes, thanks to a good finish from star striker Sanjar Ahmadi.
Forward Harash Atefi doubled the advantage 12 minutes later before midfielder Marouf Mohammadi made sure of the win with only 20 minutes to go before the final whistle.
The two teams hadn’t met on Afghan soil since a 1-0 home victory 37 years ago.
