The 30th edition of the Louis Vuitton Cup Final gets underway on Saturday with Emirates Team New Zealand locking horns with Luna Rossa Challenge on San Francisco Bay.
Team New Zealand handled their Italian rivals with little trouble each time the two sides met in the round-robin series, with Max Sirena’s men still sailing the first generation of the AC72, while the Kiwis have moved on to an updated version.
The upcoming series is a best-of-13, meaning the first to score 7 points will secure the title and earn the right to take on defending champion Oracle Team USA in the 34th America’s Cup which kicks off in September.
