Local favourite Thor Hushovd of the BMC Racing team produced a superb display to win the fourth and final stage of the Arctic Race of Norway in a sprint at the end of an uphill finishing straight.
Paul Martens was on hot on his heels and finished second.
The previous day’s winner, Germany’s Nikias Arndt, came in third.
Hushovd’s win of the 155 kilometre stage between Sortland and Harstad secured his overall victory of the race. Dutchman Kenny van Hummel from Vacansoleil-DCM had to settle for second place in the overall standings with Nikias Arndt of the Argos Shimano team completing the podium.
