Barcelona were held to a two all draw by Polish side Lechia Gdansk the club’s third pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.
Barca were given quite the work out by their hosts who opened up the scoring with less than a quarter of an hour on the clock thanks to Lechia captain Jaroslaw Bieniuk.
The Spaniards’ response was not long in coming – Sergi Roberto sliding the ball into the back of the net to tie the score on 26 minutes.
Gdansk kept their cool and discipline under the increasing Barca pressure and five minutes after the break Piotr Grzelczak made Martin Montoya pay for a lapse in concentration in defense.
But once again the home side’s lead was short-lived as world player of the year and Barca captain Lionel Messi cooly levelled matters.
Barca’s star summer signing, Brazilian Neymar had to wait until the final twelve minutes to make his competitive debut for the club but he was denied a glory start as the hosts continued to threaten until the final whistle – final score 2-2.
