French rail crash at Brétigny-sur-Orge claims seventh victim

French authorities say a seventh person has died following the train crash on the line between Paris and Limoges south of the capital earlier this month.

The 67-year-old woman had been critically ill in hospital. It is not known whether she was on the platform or in the train which came off the rails at Brétigny-sur-Orge.

The crash has been blamed on a metal bar connecting two rails which apparently came loose.
