Police in Italy have confirmed that at least 36 people have died in a deadly bus crash in the south of the country.
The coach is thought to have been carrying around 40 passengers when it plunged down a 30 metre slope after coming off a flyover near the town of Avellino. It eventually came to rest in heavy undergrowth.
It is not known what speed the vehicle was doing but it hit several cars before crashing through the guardrail on the flyover.
The passengers had been returning to Naples following a pilgrimage. Emergency services have said three children have been pulled out from the wreckage alive.
The driver is believed to be among the dead.
