The 38th edition of Paléo Festival has kicked off in the Swiss town of Nyon.

The extravaganza offers six days and nights of festivities, with over 170 concerts and shows taking place on six stages.

Paléo Festival is easily the biggest open-air festival in Switzerland and one of Europe’s major musical events.

Daniel Rossellat, President of Paléo Festival ran through some of the highlights: “We will start with a special event with Neil Young. This is an artist who is great for Paleo. Paleo is in great shape, I think it will be a fantastic. I think this year we will have a beautiful festival with legendary artists like Santana, Blur, Arctic Monkeys and others. I think it’s going to be a very nice edition”.

The Paléo Festival sets out to combine the music elements of a concert with the atmosphere of a carnival, to create a kaleidoscopic event to entertain audiences.

This year the line-up includes The Lonesome Southern, Smashing Pumpkins and the Crystal Fighters.
