Khongwatmai sets new record

Thailand’s Pachara Khongwatmai produced a stunning performance to clinch the Singha Hua Hin Open on Sunday, becoming the youngest golfer to win a major professional golf tournament.

The 14 year old, who was given the week off school to take part in the event, carded a superb final round of 67 to secure a convincing four-stroke victory.

New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, who was also 14 when she claimed the New South Wales Open last year, is the youngest female golfer to win a major tournament.
