Anzhi Makhachkala boss Guus Hiddink has resigned from his position, just a month after signing a contract extension with the wealthy Russian club.
The 66 year old, who will be replaced by former Manchester United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen, guided Anzhi to third place in the league and also reached the final of the Russian Cup last season.
Hiddink joined the Russian club in February 2012 and leaves just two games into the current season with the team sitting in 13th place.
