Tributes have been paid to trailblazing US journalist Helen Thomas, who has died at the age of 92.
The former White House correspondent, who worked for United Press International and Hearst newspapers, broke down many barriers for female reporters during her 49 years on the beat.
Thomas was known for her straight-to-the-point questioning of presidents and press secretaries.
US President Barack Obama said she “never failed to keep presidents – myself included – on their toes.”
Former president Bill Clinton and his wife, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,. praised her as a “pioneering journalist” who “added more than her share of cracks to the glass ceiling.”
Thomas died on Saturday after a long illness.
