Women cliff divers compete for first time

For the very first time and in front of hundreds of floating fans women participated in the world cliff diving series on Sunday.

Joining the men on the fourth stop of the series on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy four women divers made their debut.

Instead of using the 27 metre platform into the lake’s waters the female competitors used a slightly lower diving platform of 20 metres.

Germany’s Anna Bader dived into the history books becoming the first winner of the women’s competition.

Rounding off the podium in second and third were American duo Ginger Huber and Tara Hyer-Tira.
