Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzei is to address the United Nations in New York.
Malala, who celebrates her 16th birthday today, will speak as part of her campaign to guarantee free compulsory, education for every child.
Malala was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen on a school bus as a result of her campaign to promote rights for girls.
After that attack she was flown from Pakistan to the UK for treatment.
The teenager is expected to present a petition signed by some three million people to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to demand the right for education for each and every child.
