Opposing camps in Egypt have presented different versions of the recent political decay into bloodshed. Spanish TVE television carried a report partly done by a journalist victim of a bloodbath.

Ten thousand French citizens live in Egypt. They have become accustomed to its turbulence. They have a dual view of events: as residents and outsiders. France 2 television met a couple in Cairo’s Tahrir Square.

Ramadan is under way around the world. In Egypt though, demonstrators don’t plan on abandoning the field. They’re staying where they are. Those on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood are bitter about it, Swiss TSR television reported.

The economy is flagging badly. Tourism has shrivelled since last year, and isn’t expected to do better this year, with all that’s going on. Russia’s RTR television spoke directly to some Russian tourists.
