Paris Saint Germain announced on Wednesday the club’s Brazilian sporting director Leonardo will quit his job at the end of August and the current transfer window.
The decision comes a week after the 43-year-old had his nine-month suspension increased to 13 months by the French Football Federation for pushing a match official.
The sanction meant Leonardo was banned from the bench, the
referees’ dressing-room and from all official functions.
He joined PSG in 2011 and was tasked with reshaping the capital club’s squad. Two years later (last season) the side won their first league title since 1994.
