Gay Pride in Paris one month after first same-sex wedding

Tens of thousands have hit the streets of Paris as The City of Light celebrates Gay Pride, exactly one month to the day since France conducted its first same-sex marriage.

As Paris throbbed to the sound of techno music it marked a huge contrast to the violent anti-gay marriage protests that took place in the capital in May and early June.

In a show of support the British Embassy in the city flew the rainbow flag as the UK is currently in the process of enacting similar legislation.

For those on parade it was a chance to dress up, and have some fun.
