Femen activists freed in Tunisia set to go home

Three European feminists have been released from jail in Tunisia almost a month after they staged a topless protest in support of a fellow activist who was in custody.

Their lawyer said their sentence of four months and a day in prison had been suspended.

The trio – two French and one German – will now leave the country.

Their protest was the first of its kind in the Arab world. They were jailed after being convicted of public indecency.

One said she would never do such a protest again, given the consequences.
