Playing spectacular football and filling the trophy cabinet have always been the top requirements for any coach at Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti says he can bring both to the Bernabeu.
Speaking an entertaining mix of Spanish, French and his native Italian, Ancelotti said his goal was to help Real win a 10th European title and replace Barcelona as Spain’s dominant club.
“I love football and that’s why Real Madrid is a dream for me and today that dream is coming true,” Ancelotti said.
“I don’t think Real Madrid will be the end of my career but my hope is that I will be here a long time,” added the 54-year-old, twice a Champions League winner with AC Milan as both player and coach.
Terms of the former Paris Saint Germain’s coach’s contract have not been released but it’s estimated to be a three year deal worth some seven million euros a year.
