Farmers in Thailand have protested at a government move to cut by 20 percent the price it pays for surplus produce.

Critics of the current scheme say it is wasteful, corrupt, forces up export prices and threatens the Thai government’s plans to balance its budget.
But farmers claim the cuts will cause them huge losses.
