The Miami Heat secured their second straight NBA title with a convincing 95-88 win over the San Antonio Spurs in the decisive seventh game in Florida on Thursday.
Tim Duncan’s team-mates, who had been half a minute away from clinching the title in Game Six, fought the hosts all the way but it wasn’t to be as former Cleveland Cavaliers forward Lebron James produced yet another MVP performance to score a game high 37 points, including 5 three pointers.
Thousands of Heat fans of all ages armed with pots, pans and vuvuzelas flooded the streets surrounding the American Airlines Arena following the win. According to reports, the team will parade their trophy through downtown Miami on Monday.
