Sweden's party princess to wed

Some day my prince will come. It was the fervent hope of the Disney character Snow White and now it appears to have come true for Sweden’s Princess Madeleine. She will wed her prince New York banker Christopher O’Neill later today.

The couple met two years ago at a charity event. The thirty-year-old princess is fourth in line to the throne and was known as the party princess when in her early twenties for her stylish clothes and glamorous lifestyle.

Mr O’Neill is not the first to capture Madeleine’s heart. A royal wedding was on the cards after her engagement to Swedish attorney Jonas Bergstrom. An alleged infidelity by her then, ‘prince’ ended their eight year relationship and talk of a walk down the royal aisle.

Her heart is healed and today’s wedding will bring together European royals and New York socialites for a lavish ceremony in Sweden’s capital. The Royal Palace has revealed the princess will wear a dress made by Italian designer Valentino Garavani.
