World's oldest Torah found in Italy

The world’s oldest known complete Torah scroll may have been found in Bologna University Library. The sheepskin document dates from around 1155, and had been mistakenly catalogued in the seventeenth century. How the scroll got here is a mystery. Few survive, as once old or damaged they are usually buried or stored in a synagogue.
