Letter sent to Obama 'similar' to New York 'poison' envelopes

US intelligence officials say a suspicious letter sent to President Obama was similar to two others containing poison that were sent to the mayor of New York.

All three are said to have been sorted at a post office in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Police say the letters sent to Michael Bloomberg contained material thought to be ricin and referred to his support for gun control.
