Libya: police stations bombed in Benghazi

Bombs exploded outside two police stations in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. The blasts caused damage, but no casualties.

Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Awad Ibrahim Elbarasi said: “I heard the explosion at dawn, as I was here in Benghazi. We still don’t know who was behind the attack but an investigation is ongoing.”

The UK temporarily cut staff at its embassy in Tripoli due to security fears.

Over the last few weeks, the French embassy in Tripoli has been bombed and two Libyan government ministries have been besieged by armed groups.
