Industrial output decline slows in Spain

The rate of decline in Spanish industrial output slowed to its lowest level in 19 months in March, a pleasant surprise for the market, but two more quarters of recession are still expected before some forecast a return of growth in the final three months of this year.

March’s contraction in industrial output was offset by increases in capital goods, including machinery and office supplies, and energy.
