Five dead in Seattle shootout

US police are reporting five people are dead following a firefight near Seattle in Washington state.

Officers were responding to an emergency call of shots being fired at an apartment complex in Federal Way.

One suspect is said to have been killed when officers arrived on the scene while others were found dead.

After a sweep of the area, police believed no shooter was still on the loose and that there was no immediate threat to the public.
