Marchers call for new Spanish republic

With Spanish royal family scandals currently tarnishing the image of the King there was a high turnout at this year’s Republic Day march, held annually to remember the start of the Second republic in 1931, which was snuffed out by the Civil War. Brandishing the Republican tricolor marchers in Madrid called for an end to the monarchy and a third republic.
