Google: search and smell

The famous search engine is firing in all directions. Each month, each week, the Mountain View company offers new features or applications.

On Monday, Google launches a new feature, still in beta version.

You can now test your sense of smell with Google's new search engine.

The principle is simple, via a compatible smartphone, the user can have access to an aroma database of over 15 million olfactory samples.

If you want to take you to smell the scents of the sea, nothing simpler: just enter your search in the dedicated box. A few seconds later, your phone delivers the desired odour.

And as the icing on the cake, Google Nose offers to combine images and descriptions to each smell request. Close your eyes, you’re at the beach! The smell of the warm sand, the sea spray and a faint whiff of fish…
